Slacker

So I know I've been slack on my blogging this year! I don't know how people with multiple kids get it all done. Amelia is far from a hand full and I still have a hard time finding time to blog...especially in the summer when we are spending so much time out and about. I will attempt to do better in 2010, but no guarantees!

Benefit for the daughters of Sgt. 1st Class Brian Woods

A few weeks ago I lost my first friend in the war against terror. I knew that it would happen one day as I have a lot of friends and family in the military. It is hard to wrap my mind around this loss. I have been an awful friend and haven't kept in good contact with Brian since high school, but he was such a wonderful person through out the years I did know him well. With that being said, members from my graduating class at Northwest High School are putting together a benefit for Brian's daughters who he left behind. Here is the info:

Sgt. 1st Class W. Brian Woods Jr., of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away at age 31 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany, of wounds suffered when he was shot Aug. 14 while on patrol in Ghanzi, Afghanistan. He is the 40th soldier from Hampton Roads, and the sixth from Chesapeake, who has died while serving his country in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq. William served as a Special Forces senior medical sergeant in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. William leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth, and two daughters. He died in Germany with his family by his side.

Amelia's 2nd Birthday

I have found that the older Amelia gets the harder it is to take time to sit down and blog about all the crazy stuff she does and says! Amelia is such a bright and happy child and has brought a lot of joy to our lives over the past two years! It is amazing that two years ago she was only 1 lb. 10 oz., 720 grams! I am so lucky to have such a great little girl! So here is a few photos to show how much she has grown! Here she is only hours old...

Even at a young age of a few days old she had spunk and personality!

Here is my baby girl at the healthy age of 2! I can't believe it!!

She is a computer whiz...

Loves the Savior...

Can't get enough of the fun music cards...

Diva of South Jordan...
Thrilled with the simple things in life...

Loves talking to her Uncle Jas...

Loves riding her new bike with her diva fluffy shoes...

Loves eating cake and ice cream...

Loves hanging out with her Nana...

Loves the temple...

Loves nice blankets made by her Aunt Kelly and soccer balls...

Loves running...

And, absolutely LOVES riding the scooter and wearing the gear with her mommy and daddy!

Amelia and I went took a drive down to Colorado and then headed down to Arkansas for my familiy reunion on my mom's side! It was a fun trip and Amelia and I had a great time visitng family!! Amelia loves water and watermelon! It was pretty hot and humid down there in the south and Amelia found a perfect way to cool off! She climbed into the metal ice tub that held the drinks and played! She was so happy!!

Trip to California

Rob and I took Amelia to California for the first time a week ago! We flew in to California on Saturday and headed off to visit an old friend, Katie Nichols Yowell. Katie and I were best friends in Kindergarden and 1st grade, when we lived in Saudi Arabia. Katie now lives in California and we went over to her parents home to visit and have a BBQ! Katie's husband, Jay, made a yummy carne asada and Amelia and I swam with Katie and her son, Jake. It was a lot of fun!!

After our fun adventure to the Nichols' household, the next day, we took Amelia to the beach for the first time. At first, Amelia did not like the water so much (it was cold), but in the end she was very upset to be taken off the beach!

Finally, we took Amelia to Disneyland!! It was so much fun!! Surprisingly, Amelia loved the rides. Not surprisingly, she was terrified of the characters! Here are some of the photos of our fun trip!! Amelia saw singers and had to stop and dance,
she also loved playing in the water!
