Stephen Hepford Cancer Fund

I have known my friend Stephen for 23 years. He is a 26 year old who was born with Cerebral Palsy. His doctors told his parents that he would never learn to walk or talk. Stephen struggled throughout his childhood with extensive physical and developmental therapy. Not only did Stephen learn to walk and talk, but he graduated high school, served a mission for his church, and got married. Stephen has a job with Goodwill Industries as a custodian and was training to be a floor supervisor.

In July of this year, Stephen was diagnosed with Stage IV Testicular Cancer and he is currently receiving chemotherapy. His treatment schedule and the effects of the chemotherapy have left Stephen unable to work. Stephen has a two year old son, and his wife, Monica, is restricted to bed rest due to pregnancy complications until their child is born in January. Unfortunately, Stephen's insurance has only covered a small amount of the bills that have been accrued due to this diagnosis. He did apply for Colorado Indigent Care Program (CICP), which is helping with some of the medical expenses, but does not cover the chemotherapy. He was denied access to federal government programs because he does not qualify.

If you are interested in donating, please leave a comment and I will give you information for donating. Any donation is accepted and appreciated. You can check out Stephen's progress through this disease at stephenhepford.blogspot.com

Last Friday I hosted a Silent Auction and Bake Sale to raise money for my dear friend Stephen Hepford. It was held at my office and did quite well. Here are some of the highlights:
