Upon arrival we were first greeted by Amelia's night primary care nurse, Lisa! Lisa was suppose to move to Texas this past year, but we are so glad she didn't and that she came to the reunion! Lisa was a great strength to me when I made calls to the NICU at 3am to check on our girl! I loved that she loved taking care of Amelia and that she loved her. I always knew if Lisa was taking care of Amelia that all was okay! We love you Lisa!!
We were next visited by Stacie who didn't take care of Amelia until the end of our stay in the NICU. Amelia was teamed up with other babies that Stacie was a primary care nurse to, so we spent time with Stacie. Stacie is a great nurse and we loved visiting with her!!
Our final nurse that we visited...and mind you this is because she took her time making it over to us (saving the best for last) is Amelia's first primary care nurse, Natasha! How we love Natasha! Natasha was Amelia's nurse from her day two of life. Natasha was the first nurse I requested to have as Amelia's primary nurse. She kept me level when I started to freak out. I knew that when I would complain about other nurses, she would put me in my place and help me see another point of view. I knew that she loved Amelia and that she wouldn't let anything happen to her. She did save her life the day of the transfer from LDS hospital to IMED...Amelia had choked and Natasha came running from across the NICU to save her. For that, I will always be indebted to her. It was the scariest day of my life!! We love you Natasha!!
The friends we saw last night was Kaden and Preston. Kaden was in the same pod as Amelia for almost the entire time we were at LDS. Kaden was transferred a few times to Primary Childrens and then back.
Preston was in pod 4 with Amelia at LDS and then they shared a suite at IMED for the final week of Amelia's stay. Both of these boys are remarkable kids and have grown so much! It was fun to see them!
