Trial

Today was the last day of our trial and we accomplished much. Yesterday after the defendant finished his cross examination by his own attorney, the judge said to some affect, "I don't believe a word your client just said, and frankly, I am embarassed for him. I'm just embarrassed for him." I think all in the court room were completely surprised at this (not that we all didn't think the defendant was full of crap, but just the fact that the judge said something)! Today, the judge came in and ruled in our favor on the termination date of the contract. There is an issue of damages still left to be determined, but...you never know. This was my first trial and learned a lot to better prepare me for my next go at it. The court clerk and I got along really well, and she gave me some wonderful feedback (which I will use for the future cases). It has been a long and stressful week, but well worth the effort. Our client went home very happy and that is the most important thing!

So I went to the zoo at the beginning of August with my friend Shannon before she moved to Colorado. We had a ball...as you can see, the Utah zoo has a strict "Get up and close with the animals" rule!

Our Angel

Landon came to us for such a short time, but he impacted our lives forever. We are so blessed to have such a perfect little boy as part of our family. We truly miss him and can't wait until we are reunited. Isn't he beautiful!?! He had a bunch of hair for how early he was (lets hope all our kids have the same)!!!

Stressing Out

I start my first trial on Monday and am a bit stressed, but way excited! This is a milestone in my career and couldn't be more happy! I have to work all weekend, but hey, that is the price to pay to get where you want to be! I have not disshevled looking photos on this computer to show my wild hair...so you'll just have to imagine!

Testing

We thought we would give this a go. Ok, so actually, I (Heather) wanted to give this a go. I think that it is fun to try to electronic ways of journaling...hmmm...do I want everyone to see what we do? Well, this should be fun!
